Richard is an experienced holding midfielder who has established himself in the United States and El Salvador.
Richard started his career with Cal FC, an NPSL 4th division side, who surprised the world with their US Open Cup run that had them reach the round of 16 after beating USL and MLS sides. After Cal FC, Richard was signed by NASL side Atlanta Silverbacks, where had a very successful season including winning the 2013 Spring Championship and being named to the league's best XI.
After Atlanta, Richard was signed by the San Antonio Scorpions where he featured for 2 years before getting signed by newly formed expansion side, Rayo OKC. He spent 2 seasons in OKC and was then signed by NASL powerhouse, New York Cosmos.
After the Cosmos, Richard was signed by Penn FC in the USL, where he is currently an active starter and integral member of their midfield.
At the international level, Richard has represented the Untied States at the U18 level. He then decided to represent El Salvador, due to his dual citizenship.
With El Salvador he has featured for the U23 side, and then moved on to the senior team where he was over 40 caps to his name, including one goal. He has played in the Gold Cup and various World Cup Qualifiers for El Salvador.
